Abstract
This paper examines how Vandana Singh’s short stories “Indra’s Web” (2011) and “Reunion” (2019; Nnedi Okorafor’s Who Fears Death (2010); and N.K. Jemisin’s Broken Earth trilogy (2015-2017) propose different models of collaborative survival beyond crisis, challenge and propose alternatives to pre-existing systems of power and oppression, and reconfigure our conception of the border between life and death so that death itself comes to signify not merely loss but a form of resilience and connectivity redeemed.
