Abstract

Laura Daly (Class of 2009), Hannah Hughes (Class of 2009), and Emme Duncan (Class of 2009) discuss the College events where they became friends, like pre-Orientation trips and the Interhouse Olympics. Duncan talks about her experience transferring to Bowdoin sophomore year. The three reminisce about hosting themed parties, studying together in Hatch Science Library, their on-campus jobs, and various extracurricular activities. They also reflect on their study away experiences and how the time apart from Bowdoin was both liberating and difficult. The three mention activist events and groups on campus, like the Vagina Monologues and Bowdoin Men Against Sexual Violence (BMASV). They describe the atmosphere after the 2008 Presidential Election and the impacts of the 2008 Financial Crisis.
